Mid July In The Garden
Look at me keeping up with these posts!
My previous post saw me at the beginning of the heat wave, a couple week sin. Our max was 37C, which is really hot for here. Not living in a standard hot climate, most people don’t have built in air conditioning. If you’re like me, your house as those stupid windows that open with a crank to the side, so you can’t even get a little unit and attach it.
To be fair, it doesn’t get really hot here like this often, so you just kind of have to grit your teeth and bear it. Having said that, the heat was exactly what everything desperately needed, and my tomatoes an peppers (along with the squash and corn) have grown a crazy extent in the past few weeks. Will it be enough to move the season along after a really crappy, cold spring that delayed everything? Only time will tell.
Final note: if you emailed me in the last little bit (months!) and haven’t heard back, I’ve been having on-going issues with my contact form and WordPress. I’m still looking into it, so my apologies if anybody is trying to send questions in, one of my plugins is causing problems and it’s not entirely clear which one.
Anyhoo, here’s a few pictures from around the garden for the middle of the month.
