Comments:

2017 Definitely did better for me on the coast than in Edmonton, but that might partially have been due to uneven weather as well (including the plant being pummelled by hail, and never seeming to quite recover fully). Fruit taste and size comparable to on the coast, just a much smaller harvest.
2011 Absolutely delicious, fruity flavour. Sweet but not boring. Beautiful looking fruit, kind of resembles a brain when cut in half. A great, interesting variety.

  • In high heat, will split if not evenly watered.
  • Minor susceptibility to blossom end rot.

History

  • Original variety from Armenia, introduced by Charlotte Mullens of West Virginia in 1990.
