Large plant, definitely requires staking. Extremely high yielder of small pear-shaped yellow tomatoes, about 1.5" long. Seems to do very well in dry and hot conditions, no problems with cracking/splitting. Good flavour, a good mild acidity and sweet flavour.

Seed Source: Seed bank stock. Original seed from Meighan, of New Westminster, BC (2007).

Comments:

2014 Excellent production of clusters of small, tart fruit with little sweetness. Keeps flowering and producing up until frost finally kills it off. 4lbs per plant.

Large plant, definitely requires staking. Extremely high yielder of small pear-shaped yellow tomatoes, about 1.5" long. Seems to do very well in dry and hot conditions, no problems with cracking/splitting. Good flavour, a good mild acidity and sweet flavour.

History

  • Grown in Europe in the late 18th century, and possibly earlier.
  • First documented mention is in 1805 by taxonomist and biologist Christiaan Hendrik Persoon in his work, Synopsis Plantarum.
