History
- Dan & Val McMurray saved the seed from a slice of tomato from a bagel when they were visiting Portugal. They originally named the variety 'Portuguese' but renamed it to 'DaCosta's Portuguese' in 2007 to avoid confusion with other varieties also called 'Portuguese'.
