Seed Shop Policies

How are your seeds grown? Are they certified organic?

The majority of the seeds are grown my by myself, with a smaller selection grown by the fabulous Populuxe Seed Bank volunteer growers. While we all use a diverse method of growing, we all utilize organic methods, including any soil amendments or additives that were added during the growing season. However, we are at-home growers, and becoming certified organic is not feasible practically or financially. Therefore, we are not certified organic.

Are your seeds germination tested?

Absolutely! I test all my seeds for germination not only for sale, but so I can record the number for seed banking purposes.

I do offer seed from previous years, and these seeds are always marked with the year they were grown. For example, in 2018 the fresh seed was harvested in 2017. So, any seed from 2016 back is offered at a discounted rate. While these seeds have had their germination rates tested at time of harvest, they may not be quite as high as fresh seed, hence the discount (although due to the control climate I keep my seeds in, very often they display the same germination rates years after their initial harvest).

How is my information protected?

I use Paypal for all payments, so I never see any of your payment information. Additionally, my site is secured with an SSL certificate, so all information is encrypted. I will never use any of the info you provide for purposes other than processing your order, and I will never share or sell any of your information to a third party.

What funds are you prices in?

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars.

Returns & Exchanges

Due to the nature of seed and the inability for me to know your growing conditions, I unfortunately cannot offer refunds. All current year seed is rigorously tested for germination before sale, to ensure that your seed is viable for this growing season.

Any previous year seed (2016 and back) listed is purchased at the buyer’s risk (hence the discounted price), although older seed is also germination tested, the germination rates might not be as high as current year’s seed.

If none of your seed germinates from your package, please send me a message. I’ll be happy to send a replacement at no cost.

Shipping

All shipments are sent via Canada Post, in padded envelopes to ensure your seed doesn’t get crushed. Shipping is never increased when you order more seeds.

Shipping Internationally (outside of Canada)

I am happy to ship seeds anywhere in the world, but it is up to you to verify that your country accepts seeds via the mail. I do not hold phytosanitary certificates, and if your country doesn’t accept seeds without this certificate, there’s a chance they could be stopped at the border. In reality, this only seems to be a problem with large quantity of seed, but I highly suggest you look up your country’s seed importation laws if you’re concerned.

When will my order be shipped?

All orders are shipping within 3-4 days of payment.
