History
- Mr. Tung was an immigrant from China who brought the seeds with him when he moved to the Kootenays of BC, Canada. Mr. Tung was in charge of the vegetable garden on the property of the Kerr family in the early 1900's. In 1936 Mr. Tung returned to China, but the family continued to grow the beans in seasons following. In 1947 the daughter of James Kerr (the original owner of the property), Irene Mollison, moved back and re-discovered the seeds in a shed on the property. In 1956 she moved to Victoria, BC bringing the seeds to the west coast with her.
- Extensive history about the seeds can be found here, written by Irene Mollison herself.
