Oh, I’ve been a busy bee over here in seed bank land. Lots of things to do since getting the seeds, and lots of updates are needed to this website to reflect said changes.

The seeds are currently going through germination testing and should be available soon for distribution, so you’ll have to hold on just a bit longer for that.

A lot of the work has been behind the scenes, updating and maintaining the database that holds all the seed bank information. But I’ve managed to get a healthy amount of updates and goodies up around the website.

  • The 2011 grow out list is up and ready for viewing.
  • Brand new article on saving lettuce seeds is up.
  • The list of seeds in the bank has been updated as well.
  • In a week or so I will be putting out a call for any growers interested in helping out by growing out a variety for the bank. It’s pretty simple – I provide you with the seed, and then you send back seeds at the end of the season. No cost to you, all you need is a little bit of garden space and the commitment to send back the seeds at the end of the season so we can bank them. I’ll be posting more information on that soon.

This week on the twitter chat I help co-host, we’ll be talking specifically about setting up and maintaining your own seed bank. Interested in joining? You need a twitter account to participate, and be sure to check out our website at Seedchat.com for all the information.

    Until next time!
